Farmily's Purpose and Mission Statement

The Purpose of Farmily:
Farmily was started as an educational tool and a fun way to make the youth more aware of our connectedness to nature and ourselves. Our edible educational garden program aims to equip young people to live healthy and mindful lives. Our garden programs provides engaging, hands-on learning opportunities, which touch on a range of areas that contribute toward our mission. Using the garden as a backdrop and driving force, children participate in lessons that include science, art, social & emotional learning, leadership, service and physical fitness. Children learn about healthy eating as they plant, tend to, harvest, and prepare a wide variety of nutrient-rich fruits and veggies. Ultimately, the skills developed through our garden are transferable to other areas of life and help children set in place healthy habits that will carry into adulthood.

Our Mission Statement:

Farmily is guided by the principles of nurturing. Teaching children to care for themselves, the people around them, and their planet helps to create emotionally mature stewards. These stewards, in turn, have a passion to sustain the Earth's ability to nurture life in a renewable fashion, while embracing the rewarding  tastes that come from not only growing delicious food, but fulfilling wholesome responsibilities. This instilled passion promotes biodiversity through enveloping good agricultural practices free from pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Intention, attention, and love are our foundation.
