Meet Our Board of Directors

Juan Luis Macias

Juan Luis Macias is a lover of learning, the youngest of three children, born to Mexican immigrants. He is a Reno native who grew up in Sun Valley, Nevada, where he learned first hand the impacts of income and racial inequality.  
Juan attended the University of Nevada, Reno, earning his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and graduating Summa Cum Laude. He is currently attending Harvard Medical School graduating in 2021 with a speciality in anesthesiology. Upon completion of his residency, he wishes to return to Reno, Nevada, to give back to the community that he grew up in.  Given his background, Juan Luis knows how difficult it is to arrive in a position similar to his and thus he looks forward to being a part of Farmily in order to inspire others and to be a role model and mentor.
